Huntingburg Wastewater Treatment Plant Update

Last week, Anne stopped by to check on the progress of the Huntingburg Wastewater Treatment Plant — and it’s come a long way since the groundbreaking back in July 2024!

The project is on track to be completed by mid-2026. Once finished, the new facility will be able to treat 3 to 3.5 million gallons of wastewater per day — more than triple the capacity of the current plant.

The existing plant, while well-maintained, has been operating overits capacity, and during heavy rain events, it sometimes had to handle over four times that amount. This required mitigation measures such as storing wastewater on-site until it could be properly treated.

We’re excited to see this important project move forward and can’t wait to witness the growth and opportunities it will help bring to Huntingburg in the years ahead!
