Housing Developments Moving Forward in Dubois County

Housing continues to be a hot topic in Dubois County, with multiple projects underway to address the growing demand for both homeownership and rental options. We recently caught up with Ruger Kerstiens of Kerstiens Custom Builders and Premier Property Management to get an update on what’s happening across the county.

Northridge Estates-Jasper North Side

Jasper – Northridge Estates

Jasper’s newest subdivision, Northridge Estates, broke ground in April 2025 and has now started construction on its first home in Phase 1. The builders plan to complete the home within 75 days. Some lots have already sold, but there are still several available.

Phase 1 will include:

  • 12 single-family lots with homes starting in the $270,000 range, offering multiple floor plan options.

  • The introduction of 28 villa-style homes in a condo association, providing lower-maintenance living for homeowners.

Huntingburg – Poplar Ridge Apartments

On the north side of Huntingburg, Poplar Ridge Apartments officially broke ground at the end of July 2025. Construction begins in early September, with the first units projected to be ready for lease in late spring 2026.

When complete, the community will feature 126 high-efficiency rental units, including:

  • 24 one-bedroom apartments

  • 48 two-bedroom apartments

  • 24 three-bedroom apartments

  • 18 two-bedroom townhomes

  • 12 three-bedroom townhomes with garages

This project aims to expand housing options for both individuals and families in Huntingburg.

Hidden Meadows-Ferdinand

Ferdinand – Royal Ridge & Hidden Meadows

Ferdinand is also seeing housing growth with two distinct projects:

  • Royal Ridge Apartments recently completed 22 new townhomes. After a successful pre-leasing process, all units are already fully occupied.

  • Hidden Meadows Subdivision still has available lots for anyone looking to build. Construction can begin as soon as contracts are signed, offering new opportunities for homebuyers seeking to plant roots in Ferdinand.

Whether residents are looking to purchase a new home, move into a villa, or lease a modern apartment, options are expanding across Jasper, Huntingburg, and Ferdinand.
